Every gift matters in the Legacy of Vision Campaign

II Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Money is tight for many people.  Some members of our congregation may be walking a fine line between day-to-day financial security and a complete disruption in their finances through a life altering event such as a car breaking down or an unexpected illness.  And yet in these times of economic challenge and uncertainty, there is one rock solid assurance – God always provides.
Are you having trouble identifying how you can navigate these challenging times AND participate in the Legacy of Vision Campaign?  There is a place in this campaign for everyone to give something whether you are giving your time, your talent, or your treasure.
Equal sacrifice is the goal and here are nine quick suggestions for finding creative ways to give to the campaign:
1.      Starbucks addicts – step away from the coffee!  Donating the cost of one latte each week (or daily for some of us) can really add up over a year.
2.      Share your harvest.  If your garden is bursting, why not sell your extra harvest to co-workers or in your front yard.
3.      Get rid of the items cluttering your house and hold a yard sale.
4.      Are you the person they are talking to on the cash for gold commercial with too many earrings that don’t match?  Take your old gold to a reputable dealer and give the cash to the campaign.
5.      Dump the change in your pockets into a bucket and monthly donate the treasure that was clinking in your pockets. (Ladies – this also helps alleviate our back pain from purses that are too heavy)
6.      Collect aluminum cans and recycle them.  As part of a GO-Team project, help clean up a neighborhood and receive cash for the aluminum cans.
7.      Turn down the invitation to lunch. Instead, spend time in devotion to the Lord and donate the money you were planning to spend on the lunch.
8.      When you celebrate a birthday or an anniversary – instead of receiving gifts – ask your friends and family to give a gift in your honor to the New Life Legacy of Vision Campaign.
9.      Capitalize on your talents!  For those friends who rave about the cookies you bake or the notecards you make – tell them that you are selling them to benefit the campaign.
Pray that God will reveal to you an opportunity for you to participate in the campaign.  When that happens, share his faithfulness and encourage others.  We are all in this together – as we pay down the mortgage, expand our missions opportunities and upgrade our church facility to reach people and win souls for Christ.

Campaign introduction by Pastor Chris

Dear Church Family,

Someone asked me recently what would happen if New Life Church no longer, or dare I say never existed?  I was immediately immersed in feelings of sadness.  The reason for this is that some of my most dramatic life changing moments occurred at this church.  I believe many of you can identify with the same feelings and thoughts.  Many of you were saved here, filled with the Holy Spirit, or met your spouse here.  The point is you were impacted by the community of believers we call New Life Church.

This is the reason that I want to introduce you to the “Legacy of Vision” campaign.  This church has always had as its impetus a clearly defined purpose and vision.  This is important since God said, “without vision people will perish”.  I am convinced that we stand at the precipice of a faith stretching opportunity.  With all the great things that have occurred over the years through New Life, there are still lost people who need a church that has vision from the Lord.

I believe that in some ways we are limited, and that is the reason we are encouraging you to give sacrificially towards the “Legacy of Vision” campaign.  Imagine how many more lost and hurting people we could reach if we no longer were dealing with a sizeable mortgage.  There is also great need to bring a more usable ministry environment to our campus so we can better minister to the needs of our church family and those we will be reaching with the gospel.  Church planting and a strong surge in mission’s opportunities and needs compel me to believe that God will raise up sacrificial givers for this campaign.

I believe that for the next three years as we endeavor to rise to this challenge, God is going to empower us to reach our goal. It is with excitement and faith that I ask you to consider what your part will be in the Legacy of Vision campaign. May the Lord bless you and keep you!

His for the Harvest,

Pastor Chris Foster
